Wearable Breast Pumps

Question

Does anyone’s insurance cover the wearable pumps? Or am I just gonna have to bite the bullet and spend $250? I got a battery operated one from my insurance company, but I’d rather have a wearable one.

It’s highly advised by IBCLCs to not use wearable pumps as primary pumps. They aren’t hospital grade and don’t have the suction as such, which in turn can decrease supply. They should only be used if you are in a bind. Stick with your pump you got.

I got the lansinoh wearable pump through my insurance for $70!

Mine would cover $250 of any pump but the Elvie was actually really terrible for me it did not empty my breasts and it leaked. I ended up having to get a spectra anyways

Yes you’ll need the primary pump. I did buy a wearable and use it once/day and when I travel and for that is been a lifesaver.
