Did you cry when you left home to move in with bf/husband?

Question

My boyfriend wants me to move to Washington with him, that’s three states away from where I live. Even considering it makes me have a breakdown as my mom and dad are elderly and it breaks my heart knowing I’d leave and not know if they’ll be okay when I get back, or how they’ll be during that time. It doesn’t sit well with me, and I don’t like it but I’ve heard feeling like this is normal and if it goes away? Or please any advice. Thanks

It’s normal! When I moved in with my now fiancé, it was only 35 minutes from home but it was my first time ever being on my own. It was a difficult adjustment but it will get better. Are you able to visit often?

Yes, and I moved down the street lol. I also cried moving to college. 
I’m fortunate to have a great relationship with my mom and loved being in my home. It goes away.

When i first moved i cried a lot like a baby bcuz im really close to my mom! Once i moved i would even wake up thinking it was a dream and just thinking i was back at my house. I really struggled with it to the point were i would wake up yelling to my brothers to shut up bcuz they were making to much noise not knowing i was in a different place then me realizing i was not home i would just wake up crying 😭 i missed living with my parents 💔 i still do but at the same time im happy we have our own place. Now have a family 3 kids. I live 2 1/2 hours away from them so we go every month or so. 
Have you considered talking to him and maybe staying were you live just in a different location. 
Mention how important your parents mean to you if he really loves you he’ll understand.

I was full of guilt.. doubted myself alot and had a real loneliness at the beginning.. my mum always put being a mum first and not making a life for herself.. she never thought i would move and neither did i.. it's still hard but i see my parents more now.. and they have grandchildren who absolutely adore my parents but i can't move back.. as it's a bad place now.

I cried, but I cried with joy. If I hadn't been thrown out I was going to runaway to live with my husband. I couldn't wait to get out of that horrible house. I couldn't care less if my mom and her husband can care for themselves or not. It's not my problem. If you're that concerned then sit down with your boyfriend and let him know you don't want to move to Washington and maybe suggest a compromise.
