I made a post on here 2 days ago about going on a date even though I just broke up with my ex a week ago.

For background: my ex was very petty, disrespectful, and just kept draining me. I told him I needed a break and told him how he was making me feel and instead of talking things out he blocked me on everything. The next day I started talking to someone new and spoke to them about wanting to get back into church so he invited me to his church & to get food afterwards. So here’s an update.

He came to pick me up at 9am, I got into the car and he had flowers waiting for me 🥹 Our drive to church was about 40 mins so we spoke about basic things until we got there. Conversation went really smooth and flowed naturally as if we already knew each other. We got to church, and then after church he took me to grab coffee (he wanted to stop to get some before church but we didn’t have time). Then we went to a bowling alley, played and ate. The date was pretty wholesome. He was hinting that he would like to see me again but he hasn’t fully came out to say it. He’s been texting me since he dropped me off so I guess that’s a good thing.

I’m not really in a rush to get into anything serious and also not really getting my hopes up but this was probably one of the most wholesome and fulfilling experiences I’ve had in a long time. I had to basically beg my ex for flowers, so for him to have bought me flowers really made my day. Also he did not let me touch any doors, didn’t kiss me (I don’t kiss on the first day) and asked for consent before giving me a hug. Just a real gentleman but again, not rushing anything and not getting too excited or my hopes up.
