Which one is better and why?

Crib or playard? 
Never have bought one before, all my other kids have slept with me but this time around i wanna have baby sleep alone in own bed

I much prefer the crib. It’s more solid and makes less noise. I think they are probably more comfortable too. You also get far longer use out of a crib than a play yard, as most play yards have  lower weight/height limits. I recommend getting a crib than can convert to a toddler bed, then convert to a regular bed. That gets you the most bang for your buck in my opinion.

Crib is better. My kids sleep horribly in pack n plays because the mattress is so thin.

The pack and play won’t last as long as it doesn’t drop down as low and they can climb out of it sooner. If it has to be either or I would chose a crib. We have a pack and play for trips but our toddler actually hates it so 🤷🏻‍♀️

We use both. I use the pack n play in our bedroom in the beginning. Then we switch to a crib around 6 months old and use the pack and play on the main floor of the house when needed.
