Experience having a baby when you have a toddler
For mamas who had a baby when you still had a young toddler, would you give advice to go for it or to wait until the toddler is more independent? I’m scared about how I will handle it all. My 16 month old is currently VERY attached to me. Needs me to fall asleep, still does feeds for comfort, always wants mommy cuddles, and bc of feeding issues he requires me to assist him eating, still sleeps next to me. So it’s pretty hands on. I don’t know how I would manage a newborn with him and if it would be too stressful for my toddler (and me of course !), or if we would just adapt and be fine. I really want another and wanted them close. Also don’t want to be in the baby/toddler stage of life forever. But I don’t know if we should pace it until toddler is less clingy, potty trained, etc. I would feel awful seeing his sad little face having to wait while I feed a newborn but he wants mama cuddles too! And I don’t want my second to miss out on that one on one bonding my firstborn got. How do you even balance this? Also I’m basically a “single mom” bc husband travels, so I don’t have another set of hands. any advice from experience? Am I overthinking ?
