Cough/gagging pls help

Hey everyone, last week i started gagging out of no where, to the point where i would vomit everything i had in my stomach, my throat felt weird for a couple of days like if it was irritated or something stuck there. I went to the urgent care and the doc told me its due to acid reflux, that my thoat is irritated because of acid reflux, now ive gotten slightly better, im able to keep my food down, but now i have a dry cough that makes me gag, and i really want to get rid of it because i dont wanna gag anymore and end up throwing up again, if you can give me any advice that'll be greatly appreciated.
