February instead of January
He’s here!!! He’s finally here!!! They brought me in for an induction at 11am. They tried 3 times to get an iv in, and blew the vein each time. I took a break and ate lunch, I was getting lightheaded. After lunch they tried again, blew the veins. And then brought in the iv team. He tried, blew the vein, tried again and it was in!! Dr checked, I was 4 cm and 80% effaced. They started me on pitocin around 4pm. They doubled the dose every 30 minutes. I was comfortably contracting at 10. They bumped it to 12, and my contractions were so intense in my back and the pain migrated down to my butt. They checked me and I was 7 cm. I asked for the epidural because the back pain was too much. By the time the anesthesiologist had the line placed, I needed to push. After 30 minutes of pushing, baby boy was born. Welcome to the world John Thomas. He is 8 lbs, 7 oz and 21 inches long.
