I have a questions about IVF?

Have any of you been lucky enough to get pregnant after choosing to pick going through IVF my other question is how much does it cost to have IVF done? I asked a OB doctor she said that it was expensive to go that route.

I had asked the OB doctor she said that my health insurance would not cover me to choose to try IVF and that she suggested that I try to adopt a child instead of me wanting to get pregnant an carry a baby myself and she said that I needed to think about my age as well because I would be a high risk of getting pregnant an carrying a baby. The bad part was she said that I am missing the ability to get pregnant with a baby. I asked her if they could give me something to be able to get pregnant she said no. I have checked into adopting a baby but so far no luck.

I personally haven’t had success with ivf. We’ve done 6 rounds and starting the 7th today. I’ve seen so many women go through ivf around me with successes though. I’m just unlucky I think. We’ve spent 100k on ivf and no baby from it. It can be expensive - it depends where you live, insurances, whether your government funds or part funds it as well and how many rounds it takes for success to take place. I’d highly recommend seeing a specialist and getting thorough testing first before any ivf journey.

I’m pregnant for the second time thanks to IVF so I can’t say enough good things about it. It’s definitely expensive, but insurance is getting better these days so you might be able to get a good portion of it covered, depending where you live and what insurance you have. 
When we first did IVF 3 years ago we didn’t have much insurance coverage and I think it was around $30-$40k for all of the tests (sperm tests, endometriosis tests, etc) ahead of time, medications, monitoring appointments, procedures, biopsies, the actual retrieval, PGT-A test for embryos, transfer, etc., but we only paid around half of that. We had embryos leftover so when we wanted another baby last summer all we had to pay for was the transfer, which was actually paid for completely by our new insurance. We knew that we were going to do IVF so we purposely chose an insurance plan with the best fertility coverage.
