Nurse here. You are within range. HcG doubles every 48-72 hours up until 6,000. Then it slows to doubling every 72-96 hours. An increase of greater than 43% in 48 hours is normal. You were above that percentage.

Thank you so much! I’ve been struggling over the last week because I was so disappointed to see my levels not double. We’ve had 3 losses in the last year and a half. (One of which a fetal demise at 18weeks). We went in for a scan and got stuck with a Physician Assistant who openly admitted to not being good at ultrasounds and we seen nothing. We go back on the 19th and this two week wait has killed me. The low rise had made me lose some faith that’s for sure. So I’m grateful for your response in hopes of a healthy pregnancy this time.

Yes, after 6,000 hcg, it can take longer than 4 days to double and between 8 & 11 weeks you will stop seeing a rise, as this is when hcg hits its peak.

@kristen have you ever seen someone have an HCG level of 37,103 then 2 days later only go up to 57,289 and still see a healthy pregnancy come of it?

Unfortunately your numbers didnt double. They should have been 54. Are they redoing bloodwork? Did they check progesterone?

Fingers crossed its just a slow rise at first and everything turns out okay. Nurses are trained to keep patients calm.
