Daughter asking about her teacher's miscarriage

My daughter is in the 2nd grade and she came home asking me what a miscarriage is. She told me her teacher had been acting like she was hurt and then she heard other teachers at recess saying her teacher was having a miscarriage. I know second graders can hear things wrong and all that but if she actually WAS having a miscarriage AT the school would you be a little upset about that? If my daughter was to figure out what that was, she along with the other younger kids could be traumatized from that. I know miscarriages are hard but if she was truly having one she should have went to the hospital or just went home. Not stayed at the school all day. I want to email her just to make sure my daughter isn't mistaken and if she is telling the truth should I go to the principal about this? I don't want to traumatize the teacher further but if she honestly just stayed at school working while having miscarriage that just seems inappropriate
