Who has a contraceptive implant?

I need a new form of birth control, and a contraceptive implant really just seems like the perfect fit for me EXCEPT for the fact that one of its' side effects is weight gain. Is this true? I've gained about forty pounds and in the last couple years and I've been struggling with that. I just don't want one more thing contributing to it. Help a sister out!

I have the Nexplanon implant and I've actually lost some weight since I got it even though I was eating like crazy over Christmas. I think as long as you maintain your activity level and avoid the sugar cravings you'll be good. The only problem I've had so far is mood swings around the time of my period which is definitely something new for me. I've only had the implant for about a month and the hormone levels fluctuate in the beginning. I do really enjoy the fact that it's a no brainer.

I want to get that... But I do know with any type of birth control there can be weight gain. Honestly the one I've herd complaints about with weight gain is the depo shot.
