Would you complain to your office about your upstairs neighbors and their kids being loud?

Me and my husband have been dealing with this since we moved in. Our upstairs neighbors have toddlers between the ages of 2 and 4 and they are so loud at night. They are up all the way until 6AM screaming and jumping all through the night. We can't sleep at all. I know when you live in apartments you should expect noise but all night is ridiculous. I've already tried talking to the neighbors about it and they said because they get off work at 12am, they let their kids go to bed way later so they can spend time together as a family and we are just hearing their kids playing and being kids. Basically the kids days and nights are flipped around. I understand why they would want that but I shouldn't have to hear their children SCREAMING at the top of their lungs and running around from 12am to 6am. My husband kind of lost it last night because he has really bad chronic back pain and with not being able to sleep and also having to work with back pain he started crying. If this was during the day it would be understandable but I dont thinl we are being unreasonable for not wanting yo hear that through the night every night.

As someone with kids who’s lived in apartments, I’d definitely complain. During the day is different, but it’s not ok all night. While it makes sense for their schedule, living in an apartment means you have to take others into consideration too. Check the lease for quiet hours. Even without that I’d still complain.

Most, if not all, apartment complexes have quiet hours. If you’ve already talked to the neighbors about it, then definitely complain to the leasing office.

Yes. I understand her reasoning but thats not really acceptable. Im sure the compelx can find you a new unit. Being petty i would loudly play with my dogs during the day and maybe bang on the ceiling hahaha kidding, dont do that.

I would complain & potentially ask to move units. 
In the meantime I would try white noise machines & see if that maybe helps at all. 
I live in condos & I have a neighbor above me who lets their children run rampant all night long.. just loud thudding on the floor at the most bizarre hours. I also have a neighbor who decides to start blasting music around 8pm and it goes until 1 or 2 in the morning. We have 3 children ourselves & have had to get white noise machines for each bedroom to cancel out the noise. It doesn’t fix the problem, but it’s made it so we can at least fall asleep. It’s super disrespectful that the parents don’t care to keep their children quiet. My children wake up around 6 am & I keep them quiet until 8 because I know there are people under us who are still probably sleeping.

Most definitely complain and ask  to be moved to a different buil2, the situation sounds unlivable!!

I've been on both sides the one making the noise & the one complaining. Hopefully, if you do decide to complain your complex will move you if not, you would just be talking to talk. They pay rent like u do so they are free to do as they feel at anytime. If u call the cops for a noise, complaint they will just ask & the noise will come right back. So sorry your going through this.

You might want to look for somewhere else to live. I noticed the more a person makes noise complaints the louder people get. They most likely will not change their work schedules. So, they will do what they want to do. Some managers do not care. They just want the rent money. You can ask to move and see how that goes.
