I been having contractions 2-3 apart lasting 50 sec

Well I had my partner check me I was at 1cm about 30 minutes later I had him check again 2 cm well yesterday the contractions came again and I had him check again and I was a 4 cm with a lot of pressure and I went to hospital they are real contractions but Dr said I’m not dilated it’s still closed but he was feeling where the dr was feeling idk what to believe bc there nothing down there but my cervix and the way the contractions been and the pressure I have to be dilated
