Anyone have experience with removal of ovarian teratoma cysts?

Question

Just found out I have one (around 4-5cm in diameter) ovarian teratoma cyst - the doctor suggests removing it but says it is not urgent to remove. I'm wondering whether I should do it sooner than later. From what I've read, teratomas won't shrink or disappear, but are they guaranteed to grow if left in the body?

I’ve had two removed. The first I had removed when I was 19 or 20. It was causing a lot of pain. I was cut open for that one. The second time, I was 35 and TTC. I was told that I likely wouldn’t get pregnant with it in me so it was removed. It was large enough that they had to take my ovary. The second one was laparoscopically. I was able to get pregnant two weeks later!! I’d get it removed as soon as possible. The bigger they are, the more difficult it is to save the ovary. That should have been conveyed to you.

I’m pregnant with my second. I found out at my ultrasound that I have a massive ovarian cyst. 10cm and growing. Following to see the turn out of yours. Praying all goes well!
