I’m just curious to know. I am a single mom to a toddler and I temporarily relocated to California from the Midwest to take on a work assignment. I am a healthcare worker and while healthcare workers are paid higher compensation in Cali- the cost of living and daycare is wayyy more expensive and I do not get any financial assistance from my child’s father.

Since, I am a single mom- work life balance is def important to me. I have a goal to buy a home in the next two years, however, I just don’t see it being feasible here in Cali as a decent home is $425K and up. I know the pay rages are higher… but I am thinking of moving to another state to try it out… other than the Midwest. Any suggestions would be great.

I did find a secure permanent job here and I want to give it a try instead of going back home to the Midwest. Idk if I’m just culture shock or am just adjusting…but I have been hella scared of financially failing or just failing my child and waisting our time here in Cali if it doesn’t work out.
