White sores on babies gums

My 9 month old had a fever the past couple days and is now breaking out in a rash all over his body (so I assume roseola, but we have a doc appt tomorrow)

We thought more teeth were coming in but turns out these white things in his mouth are soft and not teeth. Anyone have an idea what this could be? Possibly in relation to the fever?
