Is this normal?

So my bf bought a used truck 3 months ago. It has 150k miles and his monthly payments are $700. Honestly when I heard that I thought it was insane but I guess those trucks are expensive.

I’ve never bought a used car but I thought the dealer was to provide you with the car fax paperwork?? Anyways everything from the start seemed sketchy

Yesterday the truck broke down and the repairs are 13k. I’m assuming the dealer will pay for that but my bf is super pist.

I told him he was being scammed and so did his friend. He didn’t listen. Now he’s mad and he keeps texting the sales man. The salesman unfollowed him on social media and won’t answer my bf and my bf now wants to get physical with him. He wants to take friends with him and punch him.

I get he’s mad but the way he’s handling this is concerning

3 months have passed I doubt the dealer will pay for it. Unless it’s warranty or under 1 month from purchase they aren’t required to

Dealerships aren’t required to provide a car fax report.  Unless the truck was covered under some type of warranty the dealership isn’t going to fix it.   I don’t know why he thinks it would be otherwise especially after 3 months.  I’d be seriously questioning the future of my relationship and his maturity level if his solution is physical violence.

The car fax wouldnt have told him much anyways...mechanically at least. Its the risk you take buying a used car. If he was dumb enough to buy a used truck for that much thays his fault and if he didnt have an independent mechanic he trusted look at it before he bought also his fault. But he is acting like a bratty immature kid about it. Getting some guys to punch a saleman...for fucks sake. I'd be looking into this as a red flag. He messed up and made a bad choice and his reaction is to try and get an assualt charge and get his expensive busted truck repossessed from jail?? We just bought a brand new car..fairly nice and expensive too.. and our payments were not even $700. If he was dumb enough to buy any truck for that cost used with miles he should just admit his fuck up and figure it out. As someone who works on cars for fun/family and like cars I wonder what truck he tossed.money at lol.

So physical harm isn't the answer. His payments could be high because he didn't put down a down payment and probably had a high interest rate. Because your boyfriend made a bad decision isn't someone else's fault. Trucks are expensive repairs on trucks are expensive. Lesson learned.

He sounds like a kid lol. He got scammed either by the dealer or is currently getting scammed by a mechanic. Accept and learn from it, move on. It’s life.
