Buy cheap toys and you get what you pay for
My mother-in-law is always buying stuff off Temu and from the Dollar store for my one year old. We've asked her not to because I personally don't trust Temu or the Dollar Store for baby things.
She visited yesterday and brought a laundry basket full of new, cheap toys. This teapot is adorable, but malfunctioned a couple hours later. Not a problem, we just took the batteries out. Then my daughter dropped it once from a height of 6 inches onto a carpet and it cracked. We throw this crap out the second it breaks but it's so wasteful! We've easily thrown away four or five laundry baskets full of broken stuff from Temu/Dollarama. My daughter has yet to break something from Little Tikes, VTec, or Fisher Price.
We have asked her to please stop buying oodles and oodles of stuff but she told us that she just loves spoiling her granddaughter. We showed her how the toys break and how it's not safe, plus she's just wasting money because everything ends up in a landfill within the week. We'd much rather she spend $20 on one or two quality items vs $20 on a basket of junk. She doesn't agree and thinks spending $20 on junk that breaks is getting good bang for your buck.
Just wanted to share that sometimes you can't win. And if you're thinking of getting this singing, light-up teapot, don't. It's a piece of junk.
