I thought he was old enough to not have a bedroom gate...

So today my 3,5 yo woke me up at 3am, We snuggled and he decided to go back to his bed.

I thought this was unlike him, but he's been sending me away from his bed the last couple of days as well so I guessed it was ok and went back to sleep.

5am, he wakes me up, "mom, my hand hurts because of the pencil" noww.. I sleep in the living room, all the pencils are in my area and I am a pretty light sleeper. I always hear it when he's coming near the living room.

I ask him where he got a pencil. He tells me "from the bin" I am thinking what bin? there is no bin. I tell him to go back to bed because what damage can a pencil do, right?

He said "I can't, my hands are covered in pencil" so I shine my phone on him...

The bin he referred to..

was my make-up box in the bathroom.

The pencil was lip pencil. He also mixed my most expensive eyeshadow palette, got into several foundations...

So far the mess he made isn't that bad, but it seems like he will need a babygate.
