My old high school friend invited me to be one of her bridesmaids about a year and a half ago. She originally said it’d be a November wedding, and last minute changed the time to June. In all the time we waited for plans and communication she’s said nothing until three months prior to the wedding.

On top of that she now wants a destination bachelorette party near a beach, which now require all of us to pay for airfare. Now she’s telling me the Airbnb she chose is outside of HER budget and wants us to pay a cut of it ($150 each).

In addition, we are all covering for our own dress, makeup and hair. I’m getting increasingly frustrated with her because she had over a year to plan this with us. And she even moved up the wedding by several months. Am I right to be mad? I never made my bridesmaids pay this much out of pocket when I got married. I stayed within what my family and I could afford, and covered for the bachelorette party. Hell, I even combined the bridal shower with the bachelorette to make traveling easier for my bridesmaids.
