Is excessive saliva normal for teething??

My 2.5 year old is getting her last molar and today around 4pm she started salivating a lot. To the point where she was so uncomfortable she gagged on her saliva and cried. Then it happened again a little later. Now she’s been asleep for 3 hours and has woken up 3 or 4 times crying and swallowing a lot. Is it normal for teething to cause so much salivation?? And discomfort? She’s never salivated so much with her other teeth. The gums however are a little inflamed which is normal for her. She’s had two eruption blisters on two other teeth and one I had to send a picture to the dentist to make sure her eruption blister wasn’t turning into an abcess. It wasn’t they said it was normal. But is this normal? Teething her molars has never caused so much saliva for her nor so much sleep disturbance and crying.
