When can I take another test?

Hi ladies! My husband and I have been TTC for 2 years and this is the first time that I have been significantly late. I took a test on Sunday night (I was 4 days late then) and it was negative. I am now on day 6 of no period, but I am not sure if I should take another a test or wait. Also, why would a test be negative if I am 4 days late? This would also be my first pregnancy.

Opk strips don't twll you when you ovulate,but can help estimate your peak. Tbh, to me the opk testing and temping is stressful. Hubby and i just have sex every other day until af arrives and.it has worked for us in thw past for pregnancy. I  unexpectedly got pregnant and tested in February,but had a mc.  Just test once a week unless you have a lot.of hcg strips then maybe every 2/3 days. Each woman and pregnancy is different. I was 4 days late with the feb one and totally forgot I missed my period lol.  So.dont give up. Some havent gotten a positive until 1.or 2 weeks late. Ovulationcould'vehappened later or not.yet. baby dust !!

Test once a week till a period or a positive test. 
Your period is late because you didn’t ovulate when you think you did or haven’t ovulated yet. How are you tracking ovulation?
