Anyone has used Accutane for acne??

Question

So I’m thinking about using accutane and just wanted to hear y’all’s story about using it. My dermatologist is saying I should use it for 6-8 months and I have to have blood work every month so she can make sure I’m okay health wise. 
Please share any important information that you think I will need to know.

One of my cousins used it. The blood work is partly to make sure you're not pregnant. If yiu get pregnant you'll need to stop use IMMEDIATELY. Acutane is dangerous for babies. The way it works is it kicks your pores into overdrive and burns them out. You'll get a ton of skin build up, peeling, and your skin will hurt. It will get a lot worse before it gets better. A lot worse. You'll need to use a lot of moisturizer and sunscreen. You'll burn really easy and it's best to avoid the sun as much as possible. Your skin will be really dedicate.

It’s extremely drying - no exaggeration. An old friend took it in high school and I felt awful for her. Worked great but the side effects were sooo hard on her! I cannot take it because of my IBD as it can worsen it. So I’ve worked for years to get my skin under control without 😮‍💨

I never did but 2 of my siblings used it while they were in college. It worked for the most part but it can be harsh. It can make your skin crazy sensitive and you burn so so so much easier.
