When did your baby start sitting up on their own unassisted?

How many months was your baby when they started sitting up unassisted? Or hitting any other milestones? My daughter will be 6 months old in 2 weeks and she still cannot sit up. She also doesn’t roll back to belly she can only roll on her side. I feel like she’s behind.. she’s my second baby. My son was sitting up by 3-4 months old, rolling over by 3 months old, I feel like she’s WAY behind compared to how he was in almost every way. We do LOTS of tummy time and I put her in a bumbo seat but she just still seems to kinda flop over. She had IUGR when I was pregnant with her could that possibly affect her development ? She was born at 38 weeks 0 days. She is very small compared to other babies her age (she still wears 0-3 month clothing) I’m just wondering if she is behind or if maybe the IUGR could be the reason she’s developing “slower” idk. I was gonna ask her doctor at her 4 month appointment but she was sick when I took her and her doctor made us reschedule so she doesn’t go until next week at almost 6 months old.

Starting to sit semi-independently is considered a 6 month skill. Being able to roll both directions consistently is the same age. Your son was ahead of the curve, so that may make it difficult for you to know when to be concerned or not with your daughter. If you’re ever worried, reach out to your Pediatrician though.

My son was sitting up at 5.5 months and unassisted by 6 months. I wouldn’t compare your kids. Babies develop at different rates.

Can't remember with my 2 older kiddos. Our youngest is 6 months. Born at 37 weeks. He sits assisted, I don't expect unassisted for another few months. He's finally just now starting to try to crawl. He's got the start down but not the actual movement. I think within the next month he'll have it. He's been rolling back to belly and belly to back since like 2 months old (he's way ahead on that one and not even the pediatrician knew why. He went reverse order and did it the hardest way first.) I think my oldest 2 were on about the same track. Not with the rolling, but with sitting and crawling for sure.

my baby rolled crazy early like 10 days old. She held her head up from birth. She could sit up with support around 2-3 months but didn’t sit unsupported until closer to 9 months. She also never crawled until after she started walking.

Each baby is different. My oldest had her first tooth at 2 weeks old and rolled over at 3 weeks. She didn't sit on her own until 9 months then crawled at 10 months. She didn't walk until 15 months and didn't talk until around 2 because she's bilingual and preferred to sign. Both of my toddlers have always been petite and could fit their clothes until double the age. So 3 months fit until 6, 6 months until 9 months, ect. My middle child did everything so fast compared to my oldest once she started. She army crawled at 7 months, sat at 8, crawled at 9 months, firs word at 11 months, first steps at 13 months, was fully walking by 14 months, and was speaking in sentences by 15 months. Each baby runs their own race. I wouldn't worry about it.

My baby is 7 months he started to sit on his own for a few seconds around 5 months only in the last week or so he sits by himself for a good few minutes and hold himself up a lot. 
He can roll from belly to back when he wants but not often and only rolls from side to side rather then back to belly but can roll back to belly with help only on a rare occasion he do it himself. He been at PT and they are happy with him. He been trying to crawl the last few weeks but the last few days it’s backwards craw he is doing. All babies are different. 
My son hated tummy time till he was over 6 months old. He was born at 38+3. Hope you get some answers at your next appointment.

I believe by 6 months they expect a baby to be anle to sit with a little support and by 8 or 9 months unassisted. Babies develop at different speeds :)
