How to gently remove steri strips?

With my first c-section I was told to let my steri strips alone and let them fall off on their own. This c-section I was told at my one week post op appointment that I could take them off the following day. It’s been two weeks since then and they are so stuck on and painful to try and remove. I was told no baths until 6 weeks so it’s not like I can soak them off. Should I even try and remove them?

Get adhesive remover. Though Your incision shouldnt be painful at 3w pp. Mine was completely healed by 4w pp.

My husband had to do mine. I couldn’t even see them long enough to do it myself.

My doctor told me to use some rubbing alcohol, apparently it kind of gets rid of the adhesive. Just slowly do it and take your time. I don’t recommend waiting this long, but I had a few stuck on me at my 6w checkup that my doctor had to remove because they were really on there. If you feel uncomfortable after some self attempts, maybe call and see if you can have someone at their office remove them for you.
