Do you have to be high risk to be induced ? im 39 weeks and im trying for a Vbac but I would rather be induced .

If you are trying for a Vbac they wants you to go into labor naturally first and then if not by a certain date then minor induction. It’s not like regular induction. And natural labor is WaY better than having pitocin. Pitocin is what you would start off on as cervidil is not recommended with Vbacs. Foley balloon is ok but doesn’t always work.

if you’re trying for a vbac it’s likely they’re not going to induce you, inductions have a higher rate of needing an emergency c section as opposed to going into labor naturally.

I think a prior c-section is usually a contraindication for induction. I would ask your OB.

I was only induced 10 days after my due date, which resulted in an emergency c section. Now I don’t have a choice whether or not to be induced. Many of my friends share the same story

My ob was advocating as much as he could for me to have a vbac with my last. Not many doctors will allow any form of induction when doing a vbac due to risks involved. Most will require for you to meet a certain criteria, as well as go naturally. The most mine would offer was membrane sweeps up until my scheduled cesarean.
