Is it wrong to be in a relationship because you don’t like being alone?

The title maybe sounds worse than it is but I’m always hearing that it’s wrong to be in a relationship because you’d never be alone but what’s wrong with that? Of course it is not the full reason Im with it living with my partner. I love ‘em to pieces and can actually see our relationship evolving into something even greater. But growing up my family was always around and didn’t spend too much time on my own but I enjoyed it. As an adult I make time for myself when I feel I need some me time, but I love coming home to someone, having my love to wake up next to, binge watching on 90 day fiancé, & just having my partner around. Is it wrong that I also like my partner around to fill the silence?? Please give your honest but respectful opinions ❤️

I think your situation is different than like, not wanting to leave someone because you don’t want to be alone. It’s when you’re staying with someone that treats you like shit just because you don’t want to be alone that it’s unhealthy and a problem

I think codependency can be a bad thing, I think if you’re sticking around in a toxic situation, because you don’t want to be alone, that’s also a bad thing, I think loneliness can’t suck, but at the same token being alone is not the same thing as loneliness. Being alone, can be freedom, can be Peaceful, being alone, gives you time to do all the things you’ve always wanted to do and didn’t have the time to do, sometimes you do need healing, sometimes you do need therapy, if being alone makes you scared or paranoid or feeling that you’re never gonna find someone else again or if you’re feeling like you’re just settling for your partner that’s something you need to work on and therapy, if you’re feeling emotionally, codependent, that you can’t survive or because you’re scared of starting all over again or maybe what you’re actually looking for is a companion or a friend or a pet, for emotional support, rather than staying with somewhere that you know no longer serves you or better your life. I don’t know what the situation is from day-to-day, if you guys are fighting a lot or if things are toxic or you’re staying together because you can’t afford to rent on your own or you feel obligated to stay out of how long you’ve been together or you feel you owe it to them or you’re staying together for the sake of the kids or Any other reason, you’re acting like roommates, I don’t know if you’re sexually active or not with them, or just the fact that you need a warm body next to you. Again, I don’t know if it’s companionship or more. But you know what is best for you, and whether that entails like I said before a friend, a pet for emotional support, or just the fact of the things that I listed before, to each their own I don’t judge anyone, but ask yourself the question are you truly happy, if things stayed exactly how they are in five or 10 years, would you say you would be happy then. if not, then this isn’t the right place for you. If you feel you deserve more or better, effort, consistency, or maybe you just need a roommate, and not the partner, or family around you. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with any decision that you’ve made, I think it’s what works for you like I said, I don’t judge anyone. But I think you must be having some doubts if you’re asking us for our opinion or advice as to the lifestyle you’ve chosen. Something in your gut must be telling you that something is off or wrong yourself. Something must’ve made you uncomfortable enough to make this post. Maybe someone else’s judgment I don’t know. But it’s your life and your choices. Good luck with whatever you decide.
