Guy I am interested in confessed to me that he likes me and has no idea how to be in a relationship with someone. I didn't answer his confession for weeks bc we are coworkers in the same unit (I am a supervisor and not his direct supervisor) and he confessed via work chat. I decided to respond with action instead. he got my number and I would text him and ask him out to ice cream so I can address his confession in person (not documented so we don't get in trouble at work). he did not know I wanted to address his confession on the ice cream hangout, bc I only asked to get ice cream together. bc of his confusion, he rejected meeting up twice bc he was unsure of where I stood and he was afraid of rejection. so one day I texted him to call me and I addressed his confession by saying I liked him back and would like to get to know him better. bc I am still butthurt about being rejected twice for ice cream, I am afraid he won't ever ask me out bc he doesn't know what to do and the dating would just "fade out." mind you, he has social anxiety (he doesn't go out much at all) and told me he has a hard time picking up on social cues. this is his first relationship (age29) and he doesn't know what to do. should I let him know by text that I want him to set up a first date with me? also, do you think he just doesn't like me enough to go on a date sooner

Well, You left him out to dry for weeks after he was direct by telling you he likes you!!! Of course he’s confused and for you no reason to feel rejected. Your ice cream invitation was vague and out of the left field. You should have told him, to go out for ice cream and talk about what he confessed to you! He probably was, like “huh?? Why did she ignore what I had told her” The guy had the courage to tell you he likes you and you just go on weeks not responding to it, he should actually be the one to feel rejected. 
Just be upfront, you both mutually like each other, go out have fun.

Are you serious lmao you literally ignored his confession for WEEKS and have been hiding what you want to talk to him about instead of just flat out telling him you want to talk on person. "Lets get ice cream" after being ignored for weeks for someone who you KNOW has social anxiety, to him it most likely feels like a trap. He admitted he has never been in a relationship, you KNOW he has social anxiety, he flat out told you that he cant pick up on social cues. Why tf are you playing games with this man's feelings and twisting it around like he's the one uninterested? "I dont get social cues" YES you have to lay it all out what you want and expect from him! He isnt a mind reader and CAN NOT pick up on the subtle cues. You asked him for ice cream twice, how is he supposed to automatically know that you want him to plan a first date when 1) he isnt even really sure you WANT to date him because of how youve been stringing him along and 2) you havent communicated like a grown adult?
