Dismissive Doctors
Hi all! (I apologize, this I will be long) I’m a 25 year old mom of one, I’ve always struggled with tummy issues, but for the past 6-8 months I suddenly started throwing up frequently especially with meals. I lost 26 pounds in 5 months without trying. I can’t even drink half a small beer without projectile vomiting immediately, Belly pains, constant nausea, gagging, frequent stools, etc. it has gotten to the point it’s really interfering with everyday life. So, I finally saw my GI and he kind of just said it could be IBS….. well then I let it go. Just yesterday I decided to go see my PCP who then ordered labs to check liver, pancreas, etc. so when they took my urine, bilirubin was found which they claim is not normal and can be a sign of a liver issue. He ran labs, and quite a bit came back abnormal and have gotten worse over the last year. My PCP called with my results and said some things were a little off but nothings concerning really. Nothing is ever explained to me, and everything is brushed off and I feel like it’s because of my age.
Has anyone experienced any of this? If so, how did you go about things? Did you get a second opinion?
