Newborn under weight ?

My baby boy was born at 39 weeks on the 13th. He was an emergency c section due to a placenta abruption. Then they discovered that his umbilical cord  was ￼tied in a complete knot. He only weighed 6 pounds 7 ounces. At his first appointment 2 days after I got out of the hospital he dropped down 4 ounces. I noticed today when breastfeeding him I can feel his spine. Is that normal or is he underweight? He had his 2 week check up next week. But I’m worried he isn’t getting enough with just breastfeeding. Is it normal or something to be concerned about?

Normal. My daughter was 39 weeks and was 6lbs14 oz at birth and 5lbs 14oz when we came home from the hospital. We had to do weighted feeds for a while to ensure she was getting enough, but there was no concern from our pediatrician as she kept up with her growth curve. she was just a little baby.

Sounds very normal mama. My son was 6lbs 12 oz at 41+1. Lots a couple ounces. They fatten up with a bit of time.

Very normal. Mine was born at 6lb 11oz and dropped to 6lb  2oz...it took him 19 days to steadily gain the weight back. Also EBF x

Of course follow up with the pediatrician, but if it helps at 2 of my babies were born 8+ lbs and I could still feel their spines. My newborn was born at 7 lbs and is now over 8 lbs at 6 weeks old and I can still feel her spine.
