Period after loss?

Just wondering what peoples experiences are after a loss. How long was it until next period?
Is there suggestions of to try again straight away, or allow yourself to have a full cycle?
Any other advice appreciated.
Fell pregnant on my last cycle, but unfortunately lost approximately 4-5 weeks.
