Placenta Scab Falling Off?

Question

When does the placenta scab fall off?? I had bright red bleeding on April 28th after a couple days of pink/brown/yellow spotting. The bright red lasted about a week. I’m now back to yellow discharge. I am now 4 weeks 3 days postpartum and the bright red bleeding happened 2 weeks 2 days postpartum.
I had a postpartum hemorrhage a few hours after giving birth, so I want to make sure I know what to expect in case the placenta scab has not fell off yet. Because I’m traumatized. 
Does that sound like the placenta scab coming off? Or does it happen later on postpartum?

I would reach out to your OB to be safe. With my third, my bleeding tapered off to faint yellow, but never fully resolved. At 6 weeks pp, I had sudden heavy bright red bleeding for a few hours, then it disappeared again. Turns out I had retained placenta and needed a D&C.

PP bleeding can come and go. It sounds like the scab coming off. I had severe pp hemorrhaging at 7-10 weeks postpartum and the blood was literally pouring out of me. What you described sounds totally normal. It could also be that you overdid it and your body reacted. Unfortunately the bleeding doesn’t always taper in a linear fashion, like I said it can come back to red and then taper again. Sounds like you’re headed in the right direction though!
