Short or long ivf protocol

Hello ,

Did anyone experience a dummy embryo transfer to check the cervix before starting ivf procedure ?

Also with pcos, is the longer protocol or shorter one recommended ? My dr recommended longer protocol to avoid OHSS but I read online that a shorter protocol reduces risks of OHSS due to short medication timeline . Could you all please share your experiences ? Thanks in advance !

Yes. The practice transfer was way easier than the actual one! Ugh. I don't know anything about PCOS protocols.

It's great that you're seeking advice from others who have gone through similar experiences! Some women do undergo a dummy embryo transfer to check the cervix before starting IVF. Regarding PCOS, the choice between short or long protocol can vary based on individual factors. Your doctor's recommendation to go with a longer protocol to avoid OHSS is a common approach. However, it's essential to discuss your concerns with your doctor to make an informed decision that suits your specific situation. Good luck on your IVF journey!
