Copper coil insertion trigger warning medical procedures

Shilo-Annabelle

Just needed a place to voice what happened because I think I might be slightly traumatised by my insertion. Mostly on the internet I've seen everyone say it was easy for them so this isn'tto scare anyone but just for support please. Monday I had the copper coil inserted because hormonal contraception hates me and its pretty much my last option before Sterilisation. Well.... nightmare. They ended up clamping my cervix of which 'a pinch' was a huge understatement, then they still couldn't get it in so they used a dialating tool to open my cervix which was also horrifying but not as horrifying as when they still couldn't get it in so used the thicker dialating tool :( finally we got it in and don't get me wrong I'm extremely happy they did it properly because when I tried the mirena im pretty sure ICASH screwed it up but at the same time I feel really vunerable, hurt and overwhelmed by an experience everyone else said was easy for them :( other than the cramping and spotting its been nowhere near as bad as the mirena was so far and its the 10 year one so I'm hopeful I wont have to go through it again any time soon but still needed to just voice it somewhere.
