Period after miscarriage

How do you know you’re having your period after a miscarriage? I miscarried April 14 and bled for about a week. I have not had any bleeding since until this week. Very light spotting starting Monday and now today (Thursday) I have what looks like a period with some clotting. Would this be considered my period? I would ask my doctor but she’s out of town. 😕
