Toddler bed?

Hey there parents! 
I have an almost 2 year old 😳❤️(in July) and I’m pregnant with my second (due 11.21 ❤️) when should I put toddler rails on my toddlers bed? I have thought and thought about it and think it would be the smart thing to do to move her into her own room for her second birthday. Should I keep the crib thing going or should I put up the toddler rails? She doesn’t try to climb. But… in case she needs us should I do the rails when she’s in her new room? Thoughts and suggestions are appreciated 🫶🏼

If she’s not climbing out of the crib, there’s no reason to switch to a bed unless you need the crib for the baby. 
Once the crib was done we went straight to a twin size bed. Toddler beds are cute, but they’re not useful for very long when a twin or full bed will work just as well for most kids.

I had to switch my eldest to a toddler bed when I was pregnant with my second and couldn’t lift her in/out anymore. I think she was about 2-2.5 and it worked well. She still napped until she turned 3, then we did quiet time for a month or two until she just didn’t need to nap anymore. But when we finally switched her room at 3.5, we had a lot of struggle. So I think it’s best to make these big changes before baby comes so she doesn’t associate these big changes with getting a new sibling.

Get a routine down long before baby comes that way there’s not a lot of big changes all at once. I’d move her into her new room but I personally still have my 2 year old in a crib I couldn’t deal with him being up and down all night.

I kept mine in their cribs until 3.5. They wont nap after the crib. At least mine wouldnt. Then we went straight to twin bed. Theres no advantage to a toddler bed imo.

We moved our kids before our next one was born. I’m a c-section mom so I knew I wouldn’t be able to lift them once baby was here. Our first moved about 2 months before baby (he was 2.5), into a toddler bed and a new room. Our second moved at 2.25 (toddler bed and into room with brother) when we got into a new schedule for school. 
We are done having kids, but we will probably move our daughter to a toddler bed around the same time, as we will be switching which rooms the kids have. I think your plan is a good one! We also got the ok to wake clocks that stay red when they’re supposed to be in bed. They worked great and the kids know if it’s not green, they’re not allowed to get up except to use the bathroom.
