Hi everyone, i had my diabetes check yesterday and ive been told im literally on the line at 7.8, ive had an appointment made for a nutritionist and stuff but i feel like i dont need it, i know how to control my diet which im happy to do, has anyone else refused to go ahead with these appointments and been fine with everything? Any advice would be great, ive not even got any symptoms of diabetes at all...

Symptoms are irrelevant. Youre close to diabetes. You clearly need the help. Take it.

With diabetes I wouldn’t risk not just having the extra check ins. Diabetes can change drastically and can be very harmful to you and eventually baby, if you were to get preeclampsia later down the line, just going for the extra talks and checks can ensure you catch any changes before the occur and just give you peace of mind. I asked to be checked for GD and the midwife didnt think I’d have it but did the test for my peace of mind. She is now thankful I asked her because my GD situation has changed dramatically since our first visit, where she initially just said we would keep an eye because of 1 or 2 high peaks. It’s now been a few weeks , a month at most since and I have severe high peaks and also severe lows that she is checking up with me every few days for, it changed so quickly so I’d say it’s definitely worth having the extra appointments.
