Would you get an abortion if your parnert didn’t want the baby ?

I’m currently 8 weeks pregnant found out at 6 weeks. Me and my boyfriend have been together for over 2 years and he would constantly ask for a baby even though we felt the time wasn’t right, I was on the birth control pill but somehow still got pregnant. At first when he found out he was happy to start our family but now he wants me to get an abortion because we’re not ready but I don’t want too 💔 I had gotten to the idea of having my baby and I really want it but he says if I have it he won’t support me and I don’t want to ask my family’s help because they’ll be disappointed in me.
I’m so conflicted about the whole situation.

I wouldnt be with a guy who said he wouldnt support me having his child. That would be a deal breaker for me. Especially after 2 years. I would keep the baby and dump him.

I feel like even if you have the abortion, I don’t see you being with such an insensitive and selfish guy for long. I think you’ll regret it for the rest of your life. Wish you the best.

This is going to be long, but close to what you’re going through. 
 
I found out early last June I was pregnant. I too, was on the pill and not ready for a baby. The only difference is, my boyfriend of 4 years was never excited about the positive test. He was there when I took the test, and he fell to the ground and cried when it read two lines. After his initial state of shock he said “we need to explore our options.” I knew he meant abortion, but he also knew I didn’t support abortion for me. We fought for days, which turned into weeks, which turned into the whole 9 months. Our once great relationship turned into a toxic hell. 
He started cutting himself, withdrawing from me, and blaming me. He stopped eating, he never once helped me while I had morning sickness. He told me to get out (we didn’t live together) and he no longer showed an ounce of will to live. At one point he asked me “did you even take the pill? (The BC pill.) I gave him a choice. If he couldn’t leave, but couldn’t stay, I would be the one to leave. He didn’t want me to, but he didn’t want to stay either. I told him I wouldn’t put him on the birth certificate or go after CS, if he chose to walk away. I decided to leave him a note and leave. He said “you can’t ruin my life and leave!” About three weeks later we moved in together. We did nothing but fight. He wanted me to abort, even at 15.5 weeks along. I almost gave in. I sat on my bed, him beside me and the abortion pill in my hand, bawling my eyes out because I didn’t want him to leave, but I was tired of fighting. I finally admitted to him “you’re right, we can’t have a kid. We aren’t ready, but I also can’t take this pill and take away the chance for this tiny baby to live. I’m sorry” and I handed him the pill. Later that day he called me into our room and said “we need to take a break.” To which I stood and walked out of the room without saying a word. I walked to my car silently. He followed me. That day Is the only day I yelled at him. I told him “get out of my car. Get out of my F*cking car” (I never swear, so this caught him off guard.) I left. I returned home that night and we didn’t speak for days. I informed him I couldn’t live this way, MY baby deserved a home with someone who loves them. In essence august 2023, he told me not to abort, we would figure it out. But we still fought because he didn’t want to figure it out. The day we went to the hospital to have the baby, he was upset with me because I listened to my OB to get induced because my placenta was actively dying. He would tell me the following for the whole 9 months. 
“I’d rather die then have a kid” 
“Cancer sounds better than having a child” 
“You can’t ruined MY life and leave” 
“You told me you’d abort” 
“I’ll start eating again when I won’t be a dad” 
“This isn’t what I wanted” 
“I made a hard choice (to keep the baby) so you didn’t have to (get an abortion). Don’t tell me about hard choices.”
“You said you’d make it work, so figure it out on your own”
Long story short, I put my foot down and said I’m keeping MY baby. He decided to stay. Now I’m laying here in bed, with my beautiful 4.5 month old baby boy while he sleeps thanking God I didn’t allow a man, whom I love very much, to pressure and manipulate me into aborting a baby I wanted to keep. Fighting with your boyfriend and the father of your child is one of the hardest and most mentally draining parts of life, but it’s life. If you want your baby, don’t be bullied. If you allow him to bully you into aborting just to stay with him, you’ll end up resenting him and that resentment will tear you apart anyways.

I personally would keep my baby. However, I would also understand that I would most likely be raising that child without the help of the father. Your family may be disappointed at first, but if they really love you, they will support you. I’m sorry you’re in this situation. It’s a lot to think about.

I’m in exactly the same boat. He says he’d rather take his life than have another child (he has 2 and I have 2). We are older I’m 44, he’s 47. But I feel adamant against abortion (for myself, I understand there are circumstances where this is the best option). He knew the risks as well as I did. Though I think we were both thinking at this age it was just too late to happen. I respect his feelings but I will keep my baby and just hope he eventually comes around, if not then so be it. My thoughts and prayers are with you. It’s truly a heartbreaking situation.

It’s your body my lady, he did his part with the fun part. It’s not incumbent upon him to tell you what to do with your body now. Other, measures could have been take to prevent pregnancy if he truly cared all that much. He can sit in a corner and cry. Not his decision. If you want the baby, keep it!
