How do you feel about this?

I just saw a video of a dad cutting his son's hair (buzz cut). He did this as punishment because his son was caught bullying a child with cancer. Im assuming it was about his hair loss. The boy was crying hard as his hair was getting buzzed. Do you agree with this punishment? Is it too far? Not enough? What would you have done if this was your child bullying somebody like this?

I dont have a problem with the punishment. I dont really like the fact that he recorded and posted it on social media though.

Yes this is a good punishment. The boy crying like that was good for him to hit a low to re think his behaviour. I would have done the same if either of my kids did this. Some parents are being too soft. Not condoning violence but just with punishments and boundaries in general kids are getting away with way too much.

That is mental, physical and emotional abuse. The child was certainly in the wrong, and deserved to have consequences for his actions, but shaving your child’s hair off is absolutely abusive and unacceptable.

Bullying your child for bullying a child doesn't teach anything. He doesn't learn anything besides the way to teach is to bully. There is no actual lesson on kindness or compassion or right from wrong. If anything it only teaches him to hide it better next time so he doesn't get caught. Humiliation doesn't lead to actual change but resentment. The kid in the video looks like 5th grade ish and by the way he is screaming.he doesn't see why this is happening or accept anything of it as a punishment. Putting it online to be constantly humiliated by strangers as it is a year old video still being talked about doesn't teach anything. It also doesn't even make a comparable punishment as his sons hair is gonna grow back and he isn't suffering with cancer. Teach your kid about cancer and the effects and make his apologize and find ways to actually teach him about cancer and make him give back but nothing was actually accomplished here but more bullying on a global stage. Bullying is never ok for any reason at any age and that includes bullying your kids.

Ineffective parenting, for sure. But clearly not the first time theyve messed up as a parent if their child is mocking kids with cancer.
