Is my question reasonable?

So I’m a SAHM and the money my bf makes is our money. His check was kind of low than usual and he paid the few bills. Mortgage is due tomorrow but he said he’d just pay it the next time he got paid. I’m sick and I haven’t been eating so I suggested we get food at Walmart it’s cheap. And he told me money is tight right now I don’t think we need to buy anything unless we need it. So a few hours later he’s like “I’m going to go to the store and buy a e-cig” you can imagine the e cig is expensive and he gets super defensive. Says “I make the money it lasts me two weeks it’s worth the money. You’re trying to “get me” type of moment.” When all I asked if money is so tight why are you out buying a vape. That you don’t need. And he’s like “we have food at the house.” I said “okay i understand but if money is tight why are you spending it on a vape that is expensive.” And he got really mad at me and left.
