Am i wrong to not want my boyfriend to put me on do not disturb?

My boyfriend randomly texts me from time to time saying he's putting his phone on so not disturb. He has chronic back pain from breaking his back in a car accident 6 years ago to where he couldn't walk for 3 years and he says when his back hurts so bad and he keeps getting notifications it just overwhelms him so he puts his phone on DND. If he needs a little space then I understand. I just don't get why he needs to put his phone on DND....

I think he is entitled to put his phone on DND 
I mean what you are trying to contact him about that so important that he can’t have a few hours of space 
If his notifications cause him stress he’s allowed mute them 
However It does seem odd that sound of his phone impacts his pain back has he mentioned this to his doctor? He might need to look at other pain management options

Sometimes i get so many messages.. nortifications and i just want to chill out.. i really have a busy day with my children.. school run.. cooking so i do put it on.. it's good for mental health.

You're allowed to feel however you feel, but he is allowed to create boundaries and tell you what he needs when he's feeling overwhelmed. He's not wrong for that. You will have to cope with your feelings about it on your own because he's entitled to take space in whatever way he needs. ￼

This is a nonissue. I put my phone on DND all the time, and don’t have any exceptions for who can still get through for that, except my son’s daycare provider. My husband will be muted for a time, just like everyone else. It’s a form of mental health awareness when you just need a break. You are not entitled to all of his time because you’re his girlfriend.
