Me and my husband are 3 years into trying for our second child. We haven’t been referred to a fertility clinic yet as I am trying to get my BMI down as much as possible for the referral (it’s currently around 37).

I have had blood tests and an ultrasound down from the GP and everything looks good for me however my husband has done a couple of samples and his sperm morphology is slightly lower than the recommended numbers so the GP has referred us to the clinic to see if they will accept us even though my BMI isn’t at the number they want.

Has anyone else been in a similar position and been accepted based off their partners sample? Also how long would it usually take to hear back from the referral and what are the first steps at a clinic?

So many unknowns at the moment and not sure if they will even accept us so currently going mad waiting! 😂
