Implantation bleeding or start of period?

Hello everyone,

Things have been weird on my end in anticipation of my period start date. I’m currently 12-13 DPO and should have expected my period already almost 1 day ago. I just went to use the restroom to wipe and saw this. I’m wondering if it’s implantation bleeding or not?

About 2 weeks ago I had sex and it was around a time that I had missed and then caught up on my birth control. It’s advised to wear backup protection for at least 7 days after something like this happens so it is possible that I may be pregnant. I’ve been on birth control for the last 5-6 years and things have been pretty on point as far as PMS and period start dates. Within the last week I’ve had unusual symptoms happening to me such as more frequent headaches, decreased in appetite, VERY mild to no cramping, fatigue, frequent urination instead of my usual PMS symptoms. I’m planning to test by Friday so that I figure it out when I’m not supposed to be working but also that’s my anticipated end date of my period… we shall see what happens 😬
