hey mamas! i had my baby 8 days ago and were going to dinner tonight and i want to order a beer, will that affect my supply? i pump between 2-4 ounces each pump and i nurse occasionally! thank you!!

If anything beer may help supply a little because of the contents in beer. (Not the alcohol). Personally I would order the beer if I wanted one :)

The yeast and oats in beer will likely help boost your supply if anything. My doctor always told me if you are sober enough to hold your baby you're sober enough to nurse/pump. The amount of alcohol that actually makes it into breastmilk would be very low compared to your blood alcohol content, so it will filter out much quicker than one might assume. If you're still worried walmart sells breastmilk tests to test for alcohol.

I drank post partum as much as wanted as long as i wasnt intoxicated. I had a very healthy supply and was able to donate some and have extra in storage 😊 i never pump and dumped either. Its not necessaey

I doubt ONE beer will have any impact on your milk production. You just carried your baby for 9 months - have the damn beer!!! 🍻

You're supposed to wait 6 weeks after birth to allow breastfeeding and milk supply to become established
