My labor story- Can’t believe it’s already over 😭
I had my fourth and final baby all natural- no pain meds or epidural, if your wanting to do it & afraid have confidence in yourself! I was so afraid to fully commit to it but did it! I was induced with pitocin all 4 times.
And 0 stitches each time 🤯 With my first I went into be induced at 5am , only 1/2 cm dilated, got the epidural pretty early around 4cm, water eventually broke on its own, and had her at 4:55AM the next morning and felt like I was pushing for at lease 2 hrs. With my second I was 5cm dilated at my 39 week appointment surprised I wasn’t in any pain, the DR sent me to L&D I stayed at 5cm all night and started the induction at 5am, he broke my water at 10:30AM at 7cm and immediately after I was begging for the epidural. By the time he was done placing the epidural he was still fixing it, preparing to start pushing. I pushed for 30 minutes I had shoulder dystocia for 1 min and delivered her at 1:36PM. My third I was 2/3 cm dilated when I went in for my induction, got the epidural at 7cm my husband passed out while I was getting the epidural (very scary I tell him he scared her out) the anesthesiologist didn’t even tape it, or get a catheter placed because shortly after my water broke at 6:50 , I started pushing 7:20 and had her at 7:23. Pushed for only 3 minutes this time as I could feel a lot more than previously and still move my legs. I also had bad back spasms after my third epidural and knew with my fourth I didn’t want to put my back through it again. I also did not like the way IV pain meds made me feel with my first and said NEVER again to those! I was also extremely terrified to push without any pain management. I debated what to do durning my whole labor with my 4th. I went in to be induced at 5am at 5cm, I could manage until 7cm but knew I didn’t want to get the epidural late like with my last 2 and I progressed sooo quickly after 7cm my water broke and soon as they walked back in from calling the doctor I was already 10cm in stirrups waiting on the doctor for 30 minutes 😩 1 big push when she finally got there and she was here! She delivered her in her regular clothes because there definitely wasn’t time for her to gown up 😅 all this to say I still can’t believe I did it all naturally especially as someone with no pain tolerance and even the nurses said they were so surprised with how calm, and great I did 😊 If I can do it- anyone can! And so glad my back didn’t take a beating for hardly any relief & definitely feel like I’m healing much better.
And made pushing so much quicker & so blessed to not need any stitches yet again 🥳
