Contractions??

I know I sound stupid but can someone please tell me what real contractions feel like and what Braxton hicks feel like?

I haven't had contractions since my 1st baby and I was induced with him and it ended in a C-section, but my Braxton Hicks have always been my entire abdomen getting very tight. This time around they get so tight I can feel them in my chest and I have to kind of breathe through them and they last a few seconds. They also get more frequent or intense if I walk a lot or use my yoga ball but they're not painful

I didn’t have Braxton Hicks. I don’t know if that’s normal or not lol I had absolutely no signs of labour until my water broke

Contracting usually wrap around your body toward the front, come in as a wave (meaning they build in intensity, like a wave cresting) and then you get a break, and they usually push downward in your uterus. 
Braxton hicks are usually just a tightening sensation on the front, upper part of your belly and usually (but not always) will go away with rest, hydration and changing positions.

For me the real contractions started at the top of my belly and wrapped down the Braxton hicks my whole belly just tightened and they were not nearly as painful I could easily move through them contractions I had to stop

For me, BH does not last long, same level of pain and not consistent. It’s just a tightness middle of belly. Contractions is more lower belly. I started having them every 30 min, then 15, then 8… there’s a contraction tracker on this app. It felt like a long cramp that I help my breath for till it passed. Hope that helps.
