Did you IUGR/FGR baby continue to be small after birth?
If your baby had IUGR during your pregnancy, did they continue to be small for a while after birth? My daughter was below the 9th percentile and diagnosed with IUGR at 32 weeks. I remained high risk for the rest of my pregnancy because of it, she was born by c section full term at 5lbs 14oz and 18in long. She’s now 8.5 months old weighing 17lbs and 24in long. She wears 3-6 month clothing and size 2 diapers. Everyone who sees her always asks how old she is and when I say she’s 8.5 months old they’re always so shocked and say they though she was maybe around 5 months. Is she considered small for her age or something ? Could this be because of the IUGR during my pregnancy or is she behind maybe? I do personally think she’s always been a little “short” length wise but as far as her weight goes I thought she was big. Her pediatrician said she will eventually catch up she doesn’t really seem concerned but everyone seems to think she’s so tiny for her age for some reason. How big is an 8.5 month old supposed to be?
