Walmart

This morning I went grocery shopping with my kids. While doing so an older man around 60-70s stopped me to tell me that my kids are well behaved are cute. Then he made a comment about how my daughter is dressed. He told me that he is happy to see her wearing dresses because woman today don’t like to wear dresses and look pretty. We want to look like slobs. Of course my red flags were definitely flying with the comment. It was also a backhanded comment to me since I was wearing shorts and a t shirt. I just want to know if I am taking this in the wrong way or do I have a right to feel weirded out by this? I can’t shake the weirdness off.
