Copper IUD
So I’ve had a copper IUD for about 8 months until I got it removed the other day. I had very extreme stomach pain the week after getting it inserted, not cramps but burning and tender to the touch in my lower abdomen, it was constantly painful and got worse at night for 3 days straight. I went back to the OB-GYN and they told me it was just gas. It went away after about 2 weeks and would come and go occasionally. My periods before my iud were super easy, rarely any cramps and I would have light bleeding for about 3-5 days. After the IUD my cramps were so bad I would throw up and I couldn’t walk and would have to call out of work. The last 2 weeks I’ve been extremely emotional with crazy mood swings, crying for no reason at all, extreme irritation and depression, and suicidal thoughts. I thought I may somehow be pregnant because of this, turns out I was not. I went and got my iud removed and I immediately feel better. They told me the copper iud doesn’t cause any of my symptoms and told me I was basically making it up. I’m just wondering if anyone else has had any similar experience with the copper IUD?
