Blood in toddler stool
Caution: poop pictures!
I have a 2.5 year old and she’s not potty trained yet but we’re working on it. Sometimes she poops on the big toilet or her small potty. A month ago she went on the big toilet and when she was done I wiped her and there was blood on her bottom and on the toilet paper. (I freaked out in my head and told my husband about it later). There were little spots of blood on top of her stool as if it dripped out after she was done passing her bowel movement. She didn’t show any discomfort as she was going. I thought maybe it was the shape of the toddler toilet seat. I never see blood in her stool or in her bottom when she goes in her diaper. So I kind of stopped letting her go on the big toilet and only on the little potty. And for a while it was okay but now a month later, last night she went on the small potty and I wiped her and there was blood again! But hardly any on or in her stool. She has been weaned for two months now so I was wondering if that had anything to do with it, a change in her diet. Her stools are still mostly soft (as you can see) but sometimes they are harder. Has anyone experienced this?? I read that 90% of cases it’s just an anal fissure.
